About Us
Photography by father and son John and Rhys Wyles, from North Wales to the Australian coast.
Where it started
We're both from Froncysyllte, a village of a few hundred people on the Welsh–English border, best known for the UNESCO-listed Pontcysyllte Aqueduct that runs above the River Dee.
John has moved back to Froncysyllte after his engineering career took him across the Middle East and Europe. Rhys emigrated to Sydney in 2019. Our photographs include John's travels through the Middle East and Europe, and Rhys's life on the Australian coast.

John Wyles
John has been taking photographs for over forty years. His career in civil, oil & gas, and energy engineering took him across the Middle East, including long postings in Qatar and Dubai. He photographed coastlines and deserts around those postings, as well as his travels through Europe.
Now back in Froncysyllte, John is approaching retirement. He and his wife Sue have bought a campervan and plan to photograph the Welsh countryside, the Scottish west coast, and other parts of Britain and Europe.

Rhys Wyles
Rhys grew up in the same village, then emigrated to Sydney in 2019. He became more interested in photography after receiving a drone for his 30th birthday in 2021. He photographs the Australian coast.
His earlier photographs are from Bondi and the Eastern Suburbs, where he lived for several years. Since moving down the coast, he has been photographing the headlands, beaches, and bushland of the Sutherland Shire.

Process
The photographs
We photograph from the ground, the water, and the air. We edit our RAW files to reflect the light and colour we saw when taking the photograph.
The prints
Printed to order on premium 240gsm lustre photo paper with a satin finish, using archival pigment inks and a 12-colour giclée process. Prints arrive unframed in protective packaging so you can choose your own frame. Full specifications →
