Sibenik

On a multi-centre family holiday through Croatia, we ended up staying near Sibenik for a few days, which put us right on the doorstep for Krka National Park. It’s one of those spots everyone talks about, and seeing the waterfalls up close, with all that lush green vegetation, definitely showed why.

We were there on a bright, sunny day in June, which isn't always what you'd pick for long exposures, but you work with what’s given. Trying to get the right light through the canopy and a clear view of the main falls without someone’s elbow in the frame was a sport in itself, but the smooth water effect against the rocks was worth the faff, even with the family waiting patiently.

One evening, after dinner in Sibenik itself, we were just wandering through the old town. The sun was starting to dip, and the streetlights were just coming on, giving those classic cobblestone streets a nice glow. Spotting the clock tower in the distance with a few people still milling about, the whole scene just felt right for a quick shot. It’s funny how some of the best moments happen when you’re not really looking for them, and Sibenik certainly had a few of those.
