I found myself in Dubai recently, and decided to head over to an island I hadn't visited before, specifically to catch the sunset. It was a bit of a punt, but it paid off; there's a great waterside walkway there that makes for a decent stroll, and I'd definitely put it on the list for a return trip. As the sun started to dip, doing its usual thing behind the city, a dhow just happened to sail past the Dubai skyline, with the Burj Khalifa standing tall. Then, as if on cue, a bird flew right overhead, adding a bit of movement to the whole scene. Sometimes you just get lucky with the timing, even when you've planned the general idea.
