How to frame your print

Our prints ship unframed in a protective tube on premium 240gsm lustre photo paper — satin finish, archival pigment inks. We recommend a 2.5cm white archival mat, acid-free backing, and UV-filtering glazing.

Your local framer can replicate the look in the wall preview above. Typical frame and matting cost is A$120–A$200 depending on size.

Part of an ongoing challenge I set myself is to capture our local historic ruin in all seasons and times of day, which often means spending a fair bit of time around the Llangollen valley. For this one I was on the opposite side of the valley above Froncysyllte. You get all sorts of weather up here, and this particular afternoon was no exception. The sky was mostly cloudy, but then the sun decided to make a brief appearance, cutting through the grey. It lit up the green hills and the valley floor really nicely, making everything pop against the darker clouds. It wasn't the ruin itself I was focused on this time, but the way that fleeting light played across the landscape. Sometimes the best shots are the ones you don't quite expect when you're waiting around for something else.
