Heading up the expressway from Dubai, pushing on towards the northern emirates as the sun started to peek over the horizon. Just outside Umm Al Quwain, this scene caught my eye, had to pull over. That dramatically leaning tree, standing its ground amongst the rolling sand dunes, really made you stop and look, kind of makes you wonder what it's seen. The light was just right, that golden hour glow washing over everything, giving the whole place a quiet, resilient feel that morning. Ended up getting this shot, which I think sums up that calm desert morning pretty well, a nice reminder of how much goes on out there before most people are even awake.
