Our prints ship unframed in a protective tube on premium 240gsm lustre photo paper — satin finish, archival pigment inks. We recommend a 2.5cm white archival mat, acid-free backing, and UV-filtering glazing.

This shot was part of a personal challenge I’d set myself, trying to capture our local historic ruin, Dinas Bran Castle, through all the seasons and various times of day. You spend enough time looking at something, you start to see it differently, even if it’s just a pile of rocks on a hill. I was lower down the valley side for this one, waiting for the sun to drop. Always a bit of a gamble with sunsets, hoping for some decent colour, but the light came through nicely. It painted the sky, then caught the castle on its distant perch, just as the valley started to settle into dusk. It’s a pretty decent spot to watch the day wind down, and the golden hour always makes the view over Llangollen look good.
