Living in Esbjerg for a couple of years, we did our utmost to explore Denmark at weekends. Who isn't intrigued by windmills, and turns out, Denmark has plenty of them. This particular one, the Svendborg windmill, we found on Fyn. It was one of those classic overcast days, which meant the light was pretty flat but still gave the old mill a bit of character against the grey sky. Just a traditional structure, sitting on its grassy hill, surrounded by a few trees. We stopped off, took it in, and then I grabbed a shot. Sometimes the simple things are the best to stumble upon.
