Living in Dubai, I spent a fair bit of time heading out to the Fossil Rock area in Sharjah. Had this specific shot in mind, trying to line up the sun as it dropped right into that saddle in the rock outcrop. Turns out, getting that exact moment takes a lot of patience, and more than a few trips out into the desert. The light changes fast out there, and you're always battling a bit of haze, but that's part of the fun, right? This particular evening, the sky just put on a show, all warm golds and oranges, and while the sun didn't quite land in the saddle perfectly, it caught these silhouetted trees and mountains just right. Sometimes the shot you get is better than the one you planned.
