Living in Esbjerg for a couple of years, we made it a point to get out and explore Denmark whenever the weekend rolled around. This particular trip saw us heading south, down to Svendborg – a place I’d actually visited during my university days – and then a bit further over to Langeland Island. It was deep in winter, and the skies were doing their usual impressive cloud formations, but we were just happy to be out. We ended up spotting this traditional windmill, Lindelse, standing pretty stoically on a hill. With those big sails and the historic architecture, it definitely caught my eye against the grey, moody backdrop. Just one of those moments you stumble upon, making the drive worth it. Hope someone will repair the sails one day.
