I was down at one of our local lakes in Ellesmere, Shropshire, just looking to get a bit of nature, a quiet afternoon out. Spotted these three mallards on the water, minding their own business for a minute. It’s a classic setup, isn’t it? Two’s company, but three? Well, that’s usually a crowd, and it wasn’t long before the inevitable squabble broke out. They really went at it, splashing and making a fair bit of a racket, sending ripples across the surface. I watched them go at it, a proper turf war unfolding right there. Sometimes the best wildlife moments are just a bit of everyday drama playing out, and these ducks certainly delivered.
