Living near Llangollen, Wales, I had a specific shot in mind for Dinas Bran Castle. The idea was to get the sunset directly behind the ruins, which meant a bit of a reconnaissance mission around the valley. It's not always as simple as just showing up; you end up driving around, pulling over, trying different angles, hoping for the right alignment. After a bit of searching, this spot came together nicely, with the distant hill and those trees framing the castle just as the sun started to drop over the Llangollen valley. Sometimes you just have to work for the view.
