Living in Bondi, you quickly get acquainted with the local wildlife, and the kookaburras are certainly no strangers. If you know the call they make, you'll understand why their usual presence is anything but quiet. Spotted these two near our flat, perched on a branch in a tree. For once, they were actually quite peaceful, just taking in the morning. The surrounding foliage and other trees around them made for a nice bit of natural framing, so ended up grabbing this shot. Sometimes the best photos just present themselves right on your doorstep, even when you're expecting a bit more of a racket.
