Living in Esbjerg meant Ribe was a pretty regular stop whenever family came to visit, especially around the holidays. This particular trip was close to Christmas, and we got lucky with a small dusting of snow, just enough to make things look a bit more festive without turning into a proper blizzard. We were just strolling along the riverfront, probably trying to walk off some Christmas treats, when I noticed how the snow-covered branch overhead framed the boats docked along the water. It was one of those quiet winter scenes, all a bit tranquil, even with a few houses peeking through the trees. Seemed worth a quick shot.
