On a multi-centre family holiday through Croatia, we found ourselves doing the usual tourist thing, wandering the backstreets of Hvar one afternoon. You always stumble across these little bits of history in the old towns, don't you? This old stone doorway caught my eye, just the way the light was hitting it, throwing some decent shadows. It had a weathered wooden interior and this bright red pole poking out, which was a bit of an unexpected touch against all the grey and brown. Made for a decent enough shot, I thought, a bit of character in amongst all the usual holiday snaps from the trip.
