Living in Esbjerg for a couple of years, the Deerhavn deer sanctuary quickly became a firm favourite, a reliable escape when I needed a bit of quiet and some wildlife. It’s one of those places that changes with the seasons, but winter always felt a bit special there. The snow really transforms the woodland, making everything feel hushed and still. I was out one of those cold, crisp days, just wandering through the trees, when I spotted this deer. It had a decent set of antlers and was just busy foraging, nose-down in the snow, like it was the most normal thing in the world. No dramatics, just a quiet moment in the Danish winter.
